As mentioned above, Wolf Spiders have a fondness for Stinkbug Parts, and may steal them from players' baskets or chests. ![]() When the player is spotted, they will let out a roar and give chase. The Wolf Spider is hostile toward the player, and when the player enters its territory, it will slowly move toward their location in a non-hostile way. Grounded Early Access Review - Little Acorns Wolf Spiders will eat Stinkbug Parts, even those stored in players' chests. ![]() Wolf Spiders will always sleep through the first 3 days of a players save before beginning to patrol at night, though if disturbed while sleeping, they will still attack as usual. They also have a chance to inflict Venom. Their attacks include a normal bite, a forward lunge attack, a jump attack, and a deadly combo bite, all of which apply poison. They attack similarly to Orb Weaver Spiders, but are able to apply a Poison effect on the player. If a perceived threat is spotted, they break from their roaming state, and chase the player and are not easy to outrun. They sleep by lowering their bodies to the ground and curling their legs close, making a very distinct and audible “snoring” sound effect. Wolf Spiders roam randomly on the ground usually at late afternoon, night, and early morning as they commonly sleep during the day. They have an infected variant found after sealing the weed killer in 3 areas across the yard. The Wolf Spider is one of the biggest threats to unprepared players. It is considerably larger than the player and can be identified by the hair across its body, the colored V on its abdomen and the thicker legs than orb weavers. However, they can also be found in the late areas located in the upper yard. The Wolf Spider is a hostile creature found around the Backyard, most notably under the Oak Tree or around the Plank Cliff in the early areas.
